This is my smallest icosahedron yet. I made it with 2 inch by 2 inch paper. I wanted to see if it could be done, because while cutting the paper on the guillotine, I had some weird pieces left over. I didn’t want to just recycle them, so I went ahead and cut them into 2 inch by 2 inch squares, thinking that some adventurous student would want to try working that small.

DSC05715I bought copy paper in really cool colors for my students to work with. I have too many students and not enough supply money to be able to buy them real origami paper for this lesson. The trade-off is that some of the joints and points don’t close as nicely as I’d like them too. Oh well.
